Finally, the kids are going to start school! Monday is their first day of School! I am so proud of the kids!!

Thank you for Christmas
We had a Christmas dinner for the kids today! Were cooking all day! Bought them presents. A DVD player, basketball, baskets for the ball and footballs. The kids loved it!! They were jumping for joy and I want to thank all the people who donated money so that we could make this christmas for them! We will continue tomorrow with some games and snacks!
Need of firewood to cook food
The kids hasn`t had any firewood these last few days and has gone hungry until we have shown up. Once it was too late to start to cook, so we came with some bread, cookies, chips and tea. The kids were very grateful! As I said in one of the discussions here, I can`t understand how an institution like this can suddendly find themselves without firewood! Someone must be in charge to get the kids what they need??

First time to meet the children
I met the children for the first time yesterday. Gave them t-shirts donated by Böler Tigrene. The kids were wearing them proudly! They are playing football against another team on Saturday, and because we don`t have the footballgear here yet(coming with Kerstin) the kids are gonna use the nice t-shirts.
We told the kids about SoulKids and our project, and that they are now the SoulKids, and they are so proud to have that name! We found three guys who are volunteering at the center who are now joining us in the work with these children. They have a fire burning for these kids, and we are sure that we are standing stronger with them on our team.
It feels great to finally be here and start this work! Kalle and Maria has also been introduced to SoulKids, and we are excited about having them on board as well. We can see that the children are hopefull and excited about this.

Computers
We got some computers that were donated to SoulKids here in Norway, now we just need to find a way to get them down to Kenya. Anyone have any ideas?? (Not laptops, we still need laptops for the center).
These computers will be great for the kids! We can give them computer lessons and maybe even teach them how to use the internet!
